Who We Are

TreatTexas.org is a coalition of individuals and organizations focused on education, awareness and advocacy efforts across Texas. Together, we’re working to reduce the social and systemic stigma of drug and alcohol dependency and increase support for treatment and prevention programs.

Currently we’re directing our efforts toward ensuring legislative support for repeal of the UPPL clause, which allows insurance providers to deny coverage to people who have consumed any amount of nonprescription drugs or alcohol, thus deterring hospitals from screening patients and addressing potential addiction

TreatTexas.org is funded by Tarrant County Challenge and the Association of Substance Abuse Programs.
